Empowered

It's been a minute since I've been on here.
I put myself in a short time-out.
My Doctor put me in a diet time-out.
No sugar,
 salt & pepper
 dairy
 yeast,
or fruit
no beverages except for water & herbal teas..
pretty much eliminated everything.
The list of what I can eat is shorter.
Lean beef, chicken and brown rice & vegetables.
I was excited to do it for health reasons,
but it has been really tough !
Throw Easter, Brandon's Birthday & Mother's Day in, and watch me squirm a little.
Yet...I did not give in.
Honestly, I am pretty dang proud of myself.
It's been a game changer.
Three more weeks.
My girlfriend checked my blood sugar the other day.
80
it was
126.

It was a very good day !!

I have discovered a lot about myself through this.
(like I will survive without chocolate, coffee or Ice Cream)
I feel stronger and more energetic.
I like this new season I am in.
I plan on continuing with healthier choices.
I love the way I feel.

Today I am grateful for:
a girlfriend that wasn't afraid to let me know I wasn't being the best I could be.
Yoga with Adriene on YouTube
water in a wineglass
a special mothers day note from Brandon
upping my hand weights

" Let disempowering thoughts pass  you by,
don't own them.
Select a more empowering thought."

Stay safe & be well!

Insight

I was sitting here, searching through a list of songs
that have recently made me praise, dance or cry.
I've been keeping notes.
My choice was down to two.
One that made me praise,
or one that made me cry.
This one ? It made me do both.

Remember my last blog post, when I said I was at a crossroads?
Well, I took some steps,
and the chosen path has indeed been refreshing.
There has been a few changes and adjustments
that are taking place.
I've found myself strangely excited!

Together

Somewhere, somehow, I lost something.
Or maybe I am gaining something?
I just feel out of sorts.
Like I've come to a crossroad and don't have the directions.
Do you ever feel that way?
Maybe everyone feels this way after the crazy year we all had?
I'm trying to let go of having to know what comes next...
and finding comfort in taking things step by step.
 Choice by choice.
Day by day.
Slowly, cautiously and more aware.
I know something will be different than before.
It is inevitable.
Change is inevitable.
Always.

I have been sorting through old journals, and notes.
Written when I became a single Mom.
A time when I really felt alone and needed to rely on something larger
than myself.
I chose to trust in God then, I trust Him now.
Sometimes it's like having a blindfold on.
However, I can now look back and see
that he has always helped me find my way.
#trust

Journal & note page on Responsibility: 2007

"I am responsible for my own life.
No one can take charge of it but me.
If I am unhappy or unhealthy,
I have the power to change that.
I have all the help and knowledge I need:
and with God's hand today,
I start becoming the person of excellence
I have always known I could be."

Jesus, I don't want anything
to come between us.
Root out whatever hinders me,
so that I may be completely
open to You and Your will for my life.
I trust in and lean on you!
Amen.

Life is better together. 💗
Hope you are well.
Be safe.

Self

Note to self:
Take photographs of the new things you experience.
Take photographs of the things  you don't want to forget.
Take photographs of the moments that are too easy to forget.
Take photographs of the bird when it rests on the birdbath.
Take a picture of the morning light shining in the kitchen &
the steam rising from your coffee.
Take pictures of your hubby when he's counting the cows,
giving "Papa kisses" to the girls, or laughing at his own jokes.
Take photographs of pets, and the people you love.
Take pictures of your loved ones pets,
and people they love.

painting by Price age 6

Take picture of the ordinary moments,
the way your son looks while he's driving,
answering a work call, or playing with the dog.
Take pictures of your grandchildren painting,
playing cards, watching T.V or hugging on one another.
Take pictures of the books that you read over and over,
and leave in a stack beside your bed, or in a basket, or by
your chair.
Take a picture of your favorite spot where you read, pray,
and journal in the morning.
Take pictures of all the things that make you smile,
and the things that bring tears to your eyes.
Take pictures because you love to take pictures.
You just never what these photos will mean to you later.

~hold the moments~
