What is desirable...

...in a man is kindness.

notes...

are you a kind person?
friendly, generous, patient, easy going,
warm-hearted, thoughtful, and fun to be with?

be kind to one another
put on a heart of kindness
it's our responsibility

kindness is a fruit of the Spirit

kindness is a natural, normal trait of
a believer

sensitive to someone who needs kindness

there is no reason not to be kind

kindness is strong

God is always kind

God rewards you for your kindness

an act of kindness is the strongest defense you
can have

you can't fight kindness

pardons, provides, protects

every answered prayer is an act of  pure kindness..
it may not fall under your category of kindness

He loves expressing kindness

kindness involves truthfulness
discipline, instruction, love, gentleness
kindness....

His presence with you
never leave you or forsake you

it's feel-able

don't let kindness and truth leave you

it's our responsibility to practice kindness
it doesn't always come easy

experience kindness

kindness is close to the top

kindness can change your family
your friendships
it only takes one person

it is a gift...
we are the channels

do the thing that is proper

kindness changes everything

express kindness

be well...

"You can disagree with someone and still be kind."
~unknown~

"Some of you are unaware of just how amazing you really are.
The way you make people laugh, lift others up,
or spread some extra love.
You do this even though you are struggling too,
and I think it makes you such a beautiful human being."
~unknown~

"Always help someone.
You might be the only one that does."
~unknown~

"Treat one another justly.
Love your neighbors.
Be compassionate with each other."

Zechariah 7:9

Anniversary

Fourteen years ago today I was back home visiting,
when Pastor Bob pulled me aside after our church service.
He placed Jesus Calling in my hands as a gift from him to me.
And so began the journey of putting God first every morning.
Sometimes requiring me to roll out of bed at 2 AM, to devote
an hour before heading to work.

My ritual has evolved over the years, and more devotionals have been
added, but Jesus Calling always starts the day.
It has carried me through the toughest times.

Journal notes...

Focus on the beauty in life, and that is what I will
most often experience.
The opposite is also true.

'Make a decision to believe in spite of everything.
Don't look to your circumstance or pay attention
to the opinion of others.
Listen to God.
Open His Word and trust what He says.

"Small streams don't plan to become mighty rivers.
They just run in the direction they were created to move,
and their Creator decides what they'll become."

"I will instruct  and teach you in the way which you should go;
I will counsel you with My eye upon you."
~ Psalm 32:8 ~

Obey what He leads you to do.

be well...

"There is a universal, intelligent, life force
that exists within everyone and everything.
It resides within each one of us as a deep wisdom,
an inner knowing. We can access this wonderful
source of knowledge and wisdom through our intuition,
and inner sense that tells us what feels right and true
for us at any given moment."

'Learn how to develop, listen and trust this inner voice.
Trust that there is a natural flow to life, and choose to go
with it, not against it.
Instead of believing every fearful thought,
choose to listen to what your heart has to say.
Know that if there's tension and anxiety present within you,
you are disconnected from your authentic self.
If you feel peaceful and at ease, if love flow through you,
it is because you have chosen to relax into your true nature,
to allow life to guide you and to trust that it will take good care of you,
because it will.'

Devotional

Feeling thankful that I have worked on my spirituality
all these years.
Helps to feel the light in the dark.

Sharing something I read this morning.
And read again. And again.
It made my heart flutter a little...
maybe it will for you too?

"The Heart Surgeon"

"Grace is God as heart surgeon, cracking open your chest,
removing your heart - poisoned as it is with pride and pain -
and replacing it with His own.
Rather than tell you to change, he creates the change.
Do you clean up so He can accept you?
No, He accepts you and begins cleaning you up.
His dream isn't just to get you into Heaven
but to get heaven into you.
What a difference this makes!
Can't forgive your enemy? Can't face tomorrow? Can't forgive your past?
Christ can, and He is on the move,
aggressively budging you from grace-less to grace-shaped living.
The gift-given giving gifts.
Forgiven people forgiving people.
Deep sighs of relief.
Stumbles aplenty but despair seldom.
Grace is everything Jesus.
Grace lives because He does, works because He works,
and matters because He matters.
He placed a term limit on sin and danced a victory jig in the graveyard.
To be saved by grace is to be saved by Him-
not by an idea, doctrine, creed, or church membership,
but by Jesus Himself,
who will sweep into Heaven anyone
who so much as gives Him the nod."
