Very random thoughts...

....and a letter from the past.

dinner, a selfie,...and if you look close...a cat on my head....💝

I feel the winds of change.
Sticking close to God and
trusting in Him for direction.
I have this wonky energy of standing at a starting gate,
waiting for the gun to fire...
while attempting to wait patiently...
and wait...
and wait.

I watched a movie with Hayley Mills and Diane Keaton
the other night. Love them both.
Hayley Mills?
I developed a bit of a girl crush...
she is 80 and so freaking adorable!!!
Both are a light.

Our chicken neighbors have been popping over the fence
for a visit from time to time.
The other night, one went missing... so we hunted in the dark.
Later I received a photo text of
a big speckled chicken sitting up in the tree.

Ellie May looks pregnant
the thought of little kids hopping around next door
makes me happy.
Can't wait!

My neighbor is baking Brandon and Molly's
wedding cake.
She brought over a practice cake for us to try.
I may have teared up a bit.

Brandon made an express trip into the area
I met him for dinner, and to bring him
some cake.
He told me he started writing his vows...
I told him I was going to be a blubbering mess.
He said his friend N.. will be OK unless he sees someone
cry.
Warning to N....don't look my way.

I'm about to mosey into the advanced class in Tai Chi.
My classmate battles with Parkinson's .
He's advancing with me....or I won't go.
Yesterday we were stretching up on our toes like a ballerina,
and I said, "I'm too wobbly today..."
and he said,
"I have a hard time even making my feet work."
and we both laughed
He has a good spirit.
He seems to move more smoothly during practice.
There's something to it.

I've been filling up journals like a madwoman
16 pages....14 pages....stuff is coming up,
ideas, direction, non-essential....quotes,
memories, flashbacks....
a lot.

waiting....waiting....studying...
practicing...
patience.

I am combing through my journal notes from the last month.
Pilfering... sleuthing...
revisiting highlighted sentences, starred & underlined areas
while highlighting more as I go.
I'm under investigation,
by me.
Putting the pieces together...to start coaching
and taking steps forward as I take in more...
I am in the flow...
yet....still not fully ready to launch.

This morning, I read a letter that formed on the 9th of last month....
it was on a Sunday...

I had just prayed for patience...
wanting to default into DIY and help God out.
Let's go!
And also wanting to wait for His perfect timing...
no easy task.
I know I am still processing....
& there is a lot going on.
I seriously trust that He has a better plan than mine anyway...
so with that said...
I'll place my trust there.

.....
'Dare to begin to be happy. You will go forward in the way before you,
you will soon receive the promise,
I will give you your heart's desire.

I understand perfectly things about you which you have
yet to discover. Open your heart fully to Me.
You will experience My boundless Love.
I want your life to bear fruit.

No one can go it alone Spiritually.
I will lead you to a place I know you will thrive. Be obedient to wherever
My Spirit leads you.
Stop worrying, fretting, and being anxious.
I will help you through this.

Get real with your mess-ups, and don't act like you have it all together.
I am more concerned about you faking it than if you blow it.
I want you to know I see you, and there is nothing you can do to
make Me love you more!
Don't go into hiding. Keep it real.
Let me enter into your failures with you &
watch what happens.
Do something with what you believe & fight back against boredom of a
faith without activity.

Faith without works is as useless as a pen without ink.
I don't need your help.

I want your heart, and you will understand more about Me
the more you engage in your faith.

You will be alright, for you are still learning what it means to be strong.
Keep going.
Find a place to rest.
Then rise up and begin again.

Have a blast today.
Search for little signs, take a walk, but
find your adventure in Me and express your faith
in love and in action.
Talk to Me all the time.
This single habit will improve every area of your life.
Hear Me say,
"That's my girl!"'

The fastest way...

...to build self-worth is to be impressed
with yourself.
To do things that make you respect
 you.
So that when you go to bed at night
you can say
"I'm proud of my day."

When you let yourself down
it whittles away at your self-worth.
Don't let yourself down.
You're not trying to get away from "suck"
your trying to move towards "awesome."

Self-assured

So, I've been giving myself time to simmer,
as I'm discovering and developing
a path forward that works for me.

Baking class... cinnamon rolls....💛

I mentioned in the past of an opportunity
(for growth).
It was a job working with a sweet kiddo with Autism.
I met the family...their pets, and even their friends.
We took to each other instantly. It was a perfect fit.
However, after much thought and prayer...
I decided to turn it down.
We were all a bit bummed.
(Which led to my funktastic mood in my previous post.)

 Keeping in mind,
I had plans (as I mentioned as well) for this month,
and it would have taken me way off course.
As life would have it,
God had His own big plans, and my
 course changed direction anyway.
I'm still heading in the same direction,
but there's been a course correction.
 A "recalculating" moment.
More clarity.
I'm letting it unfold naturally.

In the meantime....
I'm loving:
 This gentle February weather!!
Volunteering at the therapy barn, new horses joining our team,
funny kids, and our new volunteer leader.
Learning high kicks now with my Tai Chi buddies, and
channeling our inner Ninja's.
A chat with the  cashier who told me she thought she had a micro-sleep (& still shaking it off)
while checking out someone's groceries before me....and then
us adding more to the story, until we doubled over laughing.
Laughter.
Baking class last night. Cinnamon rolls and rolls filled with chocolate ganache...
a group of grown adult ladies with chocolate smeared hands, licking chocolate covered
spoons. Hoots mixed with laughter.
Joy.
Tea rooms, and a Parakeet named "Sunshine".

And all is well.

be well...

"Living intentionally creates a soulful reason
behind our actions.
When we take the time to zero in on what we want
and why we want it,
we can narrow in on our purpose.
Instead of allowing our thoughts to run wild,

Synchronicity of Things...

Going back to a call made to schedule an appointment,
 which somehow led to
chatting about the year of the snake,
and the shedding of old skin.

Followed by subtle signs & a strong nudge.
 The green light.
Cueing me that it's time to begin.

Resistance.
I set & circle a date, and decide to go with the flow.
My head is ready, but my heart whispers "slow".

My neighbor visits & hands me
a package, unexpectedly sitting at my door.
A note from home & a thoughtful gift.
Some tears, a call, and much, much more...
the timing was perfect,
I felt the tug at my core.

Fear, doubt and uncertainty come near,
the circled date also, a birthday of someone dear.
Listening to a talk-show while visiting Mom... they mention..."the year of the horse".
I look to see the date, and it's the one I have in a circle, of course.

Journaling...

If you want something, take action today.
Every small step leads to change.

Anything that makes you anxious is a growth
opportunity. Embrace the challenge eager
to gain the blessings hidden in the difficulties.

Start in the present moment-
accepting things exactly as they are.

Give yourself.

You see many things that miss the mark,
and it's uncomfortable.
Don't run away.

Be clear in your mind of exactly what you
want to happen. Leave the how to God,
even if it's unrealistic.

"Hold your course and don't let go..."

This morning I have the desire to go somewhere.
I'm feeling a pull for Costa Rica...
then I pop back into reality,
and it looks more like shopping for tires,
and touring Walmart.
Who knows...? could be fun.

Journaling...

Notes on Consciousness

Maneuvering through the morning slowly,
enjoying small sips of coffee, wrapped in a quilt outside.
It's overcast, and cool.
 Still.
 Peaceful.

The porch decorated in chalk dust and graffiti from last
nights "lets-go-draw-on-the-porch" moment.
Bundling into sweatpants, hoodies and grabbing quilts to wrap in.
Twinkle lights and moonlight.
Goofiness and laughter.
Simple joys with my grand-girl.

I'm re-visiting some books I read before my coaching course.
Before I went on my own journey of being coached.
I had a twinge of "before and after" ,
and a prayerful celebration of the
things I've left behind.

Sharing this out of the book:
Letting Go
The Pathway of Surrender
by David R. Hawkins M.D. Ph.D.

3years ago...a special friend/teacher/guide shared this book with me.
Sometimes we just need the right information to
tug at our truth, and help us to see more clearly.
We don't know, until we know.

" Apathy and depression are prices we pay for having settled for
and bought into our smallness.
It's what we get for having played the victim & allowed ourselves to be programmed.
It's the price we pay for having bought into negativity.
It's what results from resisting the part of ourselves that is loving,
courageous, and great.
It results from allowing ourselves to be invalidated by ourselves or others;
it is the consequence of holding ourselves in a negative context.
In reality, it is only a definition of ourselves that we have unwittingly
allowed to happen.
The way out is to become more conscious."

"What does it mean to become 'more conscious' ?
To begin with, becoming more conscious means to
start looking for the truth for ourselves, instead of blindly
allowing ourselves to be programmed,
whether from without or by an inner voice within the mind,
which seeks to diminish and invalidate,
focusing on all that is weak and helpless.
To get out of it, we have to accept the responsibility that
we have bought into the negativity and have been willing to believe it.
The way out of this, then, is to start questioning everything."

"As we become more aware, we begin to realize that we have a choice.
We can stop giving authority to all the mind's thoughts,
begin to question them, and find out if there is really any truth in them
for ourselves."

(great book if this interests you)

Journal notes:

"You are not alone; there is a great big world out there
waiting to champion you and help you live your very best life."

'The root cause of hesitancy is due to how you feel about yourself.
Remember who you are.
You have all you need to achieve every goal before you.
You don't have to fear.
You can do this.
Stop wrestling with your anxieties and get the job done.
Begin living your life with joy, and assurance of God's
unlimited resources.'

You are free to live your honest story in the way it was meant to be written.

"We are defined by the narrative we write for ourselves every day."

Talk to yourself with love.

Your main work is to clear out debris and clutter,
making room for your Spirit.

Release and receive.

Go through your days distracted by everything going on around you,
or live fully engaged, and look for the beauty in life.

"You get what you repeat."

...finally she decided to stop suppressing her true nature.

Happiness Habits

I remember a time when playing outside with my cousins,
then Dad taking us to my Uncle's gas station
to buy a bottle of Coca-Cola from the machine
was all it took to be happy.

It takes a little more intention these days..,
but it's still the little things that make me happiest.
Like nature, movement, and savoring the simple pleasures.
Only now, it's walking through the grass barefoot,
practicing Tai Chi steps under the stars,
and relaxing with a healthy mug of hot-chocolate
(sugar/dairy free)
at the end of the day.

Journal notes:

Don't worry about what's around the next bend.

Be watchful & thankful.

Be wise.
Make the most of every opportunity.

Confront fear by taking a positive step in faith.

A leisurely pace accomplishes more

Do not lose your identity as a unique person.
You are who you are.
Retain your freedom and individuality at every turn.

Keep your heart and your eyes open wide enough
to appreciate the synchronicities & magic around you.

It will be difficult, but it's worthwhile-
this is where your true healing begins."

Uniqueness

This week, I've been channeling my energy into areas that
genuinely interest me.
Embracing my own individuality, and resisting the urge
to conform to social expectations.
Taking more time to really experience what matters, and best I can...,
let go of the rest.

Misplaced priorities rob us of peace, energy and joy,
causing us more stress.
Don't trade taking the time to understanding yourself,
for trying to impress someone else.

"Stress and anxiety create blocks in our lives.
Flow creates peace and harmony.
When we struggle with what's happening,
we move out of flow.
Everything is happening exactly as it should.
Trust that your efforts and prayers are being recognized.
Do your best and create change.
Life will unfold as it does.
We are responsible for how we react
and the choices we make as it does.
Trust and faith can eliminate anxiety and stress.
We are given a wonderful life to live and experience."

"Keep faith simple because it is.
But don't try to make it easy-
because it's not."

Boundaries

Savor, observe, expand, ground, balance, longing, truth, teacher,
friend, authenticity, spirit, belonging, change, emotions, healing, space, grace,
acceptance, action, presence, awareness, faith, peace, internal, priority, seen,
responsibility, respect, influence, values, roots.

My Dad walking ahead of me, & my heart echoing my GPS..."Recalculating".
Emotional send-offs, hugs, and aches of separation.
Feelings of longing to stay, slightly distracted
by activity, travel, people watching, seatmates, turbulence and a
readiness to get home.

Some shifting taking place. Uncertainty, voids, and struggle,
replaced with faith, love, and stillness.

Thoughts on moving forward, responsibility, direction,
and assessment, and then onto thoughts about boundaries.

Did you know that 80 % of the population has never learned about boundaries?
I for one, never got the memo.
I learned manners, how to be respectful, and to how to survive and defend,
but if there was much said about boundaries....I missed it.

Boundaries came to my attention as a tool a few years ago.
During a trip back home, my kiddo purchased a book
as a gift for his sister-friend.
He told me I might like it too, and to check it out.
I didn't want to thumb through the pages,
however I read the covers, and ordered it when I returned home.

With that little backstory,
I decided to delve into the-book-of-which-I-speak again.
3rd. time.
As with anything...it takes practice and refreshing
myself on the information.
I'm passing on some bits as I go.
If life feels wonky, Boundaries are a good place to start.
It's a good tool that can help in making choices
through change.
And a guide to assist in finding direction.

For starters, I will share a page from "The Boundary Boss."
(the book of which I speak) on rights.

"Boundary Boss Bill Of Rights"

"❤ You have the right to say no (or yes) to others without feeling guilty.

❤ You have the right to make mistakes, to course correct, or change your mind.

❤ You have the right to negotiate for your preferences, desires and needs.

❤ You have the right to express and honor all of your feelings, if you so choose.

❤ You have the right to voice your own opinion even if others disagree.

❤ You have the right to be treated with respect, consideration, and care.

❤ You have the right to determine who has the privilege of being in your life.

❤ You have the right to communicate your boundaries, limits, and deal-breakers.

❤ You have the right to prioritize your self-care without feeling selfish.

❤ You have the right to talk true, be seen, and live free."

~The Boundary Boss~

The relationship we have with ourself is the most important.
We are responsible for our own happiness.

Be well...

"Love yourself enough to set boundaries.
Your time and energy are precious.
You get to choose how you use it.

You really have to love yourself to get anything
done in this world."

Healing

I have learned that discomfort is just a signal
that I am capable of more.
That meditation and journaling
are amazing healing tools.
And...
that I am willing to do whatever it takes to win on the inside.

Journal notes...

It is vital that you remain hopeful,
no matter what is going on in your life.

Peace is an inside job.

You do not need to present a different version
of yourself to earn love, acceptance, &
connection, and have deeper relationships.

Live the simplest version of who God made you to be.
Be authentic.
They will love who you really are.

The only adequate source of help is God.

'God helps you change and grow,
and become spiritually mature & whole
in spirit, mind, and body.'

"Do not let your hearts be troubled
& do not be afraid."
John 14:27

Don't fight battles when you don't have a real way to fight them.
Keep your focus on things that are important to you.

You have the power to make today feel the way you want.

Find the tone you want to set for the day.
Breathe.

"Broom the gloom, & make room
for the blossoms to in your heart to bloom."

"I wish people knew that when we start healing,
we can also feel some sadness.

We realize how much we've missed out on.

How we were let down by others
and how we let down ourselves.

How much the past version of us actually deserved.

Healing involves healthy grieving;
cathartic crying.

"Tear seeking".
A biological baptism,
born again anew."
