Yesterday as I was sitting on the front porch basking in
the sunshine, and waiting for hubby to get home with our
carry out dinners, I had this moment of extreme gratitude,
and clarity.
It started with just being present.
Noticing the heat of the sun on my face,
and the slight breeze blowing
through the windchimes.
Listening to the trickling sound of the water,
as it melted off of the roof, and ran through
the drainage pipe into the grass.
Knowing that my peeps are all well.
Breathing in deep breaths of the fresh winter air.
Glancing across the street, to Otis (neighbor dog) who pauses mid-bark to join me in a moment of silence.
A rare moment for the big goof.
THIS!
These are the cherished gifts tucked into every day.
This is what makes me truly happy.
These are the moments I live for.
All the simple, extraordinary, little things.
Sometimes we just need to stop in the pursuit of happiness,
and just be happy!
A couple of journal notes from today:
Each day is a precious unrepeatable gift.
Position yourself to receive all the joy and
blessings God desires to pour out on you.
'Simple rules for the game of life:
fearless faith
nonresistance
&
love'
"Gratitude is the hearts memory."
And also this...
(I can relate)
"She didn't want a grand mansion, she wanted a little log cabin
in the middle of nowhere, where they could grow old together.
A place where the trees were their neighbors, the birds sung them
awake each morning, and the stars shone in the sky above them as they
slept each night.
She didn't want a manicured garden, she wanted a place where the
flowers grew wild and free, reminding her of her own nature.
A place where she could walk barefoot on the Earth, make
friends with the animals, and sit around a fire sharing stories.
She didn't want a life full of rushing and striving, she
wanted a life where she could enjoy the pleasure of simply
being. A life where she had time to stop and smell the flowers,
to marvel at the beauty of the sunset, and to listen to her
heart speak.
She didn't want big things, she wanted little moments.
Moments that toughed her soul, moments that made
her heart sing, moments where love was all that she knew."
be well...
xoxo
