I took a little weekend escape & headed South to go love on my Mom.

Moments:

Big squeezy hugs.

Hightailing it into town to catch the matinee. 

 Walking barefoot in the yard,

the sun setting behind the mountain.

 The calm of cows grazing in the pasture beside us.

Jammies, and morning coffee under the big oak tree.

The way she breaks into uncontrollable giggles, 

when she gets tickled at herself.

Sitting in her favorite chair, with

the full moon shining through the window.

A flock of doves landing behind me,

as I sit in the yard to write in my journal.

It's the greatest gift...

 togetherness. 

To breathe in life 

with all of it's

beauty, and it's pain.
