Silent Light

Sitting in the stream of sunlight coming through the door,
thinking about overthinking, and how
much energy it takes.
I am motivated by the stillness and my time spent in quiet
devotion, journaling, and prayer.

I'm learning (instead of getting caught up in thought) how to pivot...
back to the present moment.
I want to be more aware.
I want to be more solid.
I am going to enjoy this life a little more...
and quit trying to figure everything out all the time.

I'm learning to reconnect to parts of myself that I love,
and to quit worrying about the rest.

 but there comes a time
when we must stop adding
and start updating."

Laughter Yoga

I had an awareness that I was being watched during
a yoga pose "to boost mood",
(I giggled at the thought...)
then...I turned to see the cat giving me this look.
Spontaneous laughter ensued.
Effective.

They're people and places and memories and pictures.
They're feelings and moments and smiles and laughter."

Walking Buddy

I walked the pastures while hubby fed hay.
Buddy decided to join me.
I stopped he stopped...I moved he moved...
he's such a good boy.
It was a great way to start the day.
I sure do love the little butt head.

Snowy Forcast

The snow is expected more in the South (Mom),
my kiddo is heading North.
Short ribs simmering in the crockpot, twinkle lights aglow,
and restorative yoga the cue for our cat.

Farm Chores

There's hot tea and popcorn, hay and feed, something for
everyone. I've noticed we've been laughing more lately.

with a joyful daily awareness,
not just recognize it years later
as a wistful memory."

Morning Time

The sound of coffee percolating &
paperwhites blooming in the window.
Morning is by far my favorite time of day.

you most cherish in life and ask yourself
what you did today to cherish it."

Moments Lately

I've been taking pictures but not posting
them. I want to change that.
Do something a little different.
A little more.

travel backward and forward. It would have a

Sunday Sermon

" What is wrong with the world?"
"What is wrong with people?"
" What is happening to our country?"
" What is wrong with me?"
I hear it every day.
And I have asked the questions.
The answer seems so simple...but
the world is so complicated.
I just try to do my part.

This is a repeat. I wish I could find what year Charles preached
this message.
I looked up his age, and He is 90 now.
We watch him every Sunday, hubby likes him too.
His teachings are powerful.
I love his truth.
I thank him with all of my heart for
getting me through the tough times.
 (I read his devotionals too.)
He's like a sweet, caring Grandpa that reaches out to love you.
I hope you'll give it a watch.

Before I hit publish, I will check my journal for some "notes" taken from my devotionals...
and here they are, fresh from this morning: (words from God)

"The future is a phantom, seeking to spook you. Laugh at the future. Stay close to Me."

" What I want for you is better than what you could ever seek for yourself."

" Submit, and walk in fellowship with Me. I begin right where you are,
I will work through you to get you where you need to go, and give you all that
you need."

"Clinging to me in the dark requires you to persistently exert your willpower."

Something to think about...
" Be not angry that you cannot make others as you
wish them to be, since you cannot make yourself as you wish to be."

I felt the nudge to share this today.
Happy Sunday!

Amor Fati

A Latin phrase translated to,
love of ones fate.

" The path of greatness is found through a love of
ones own fate."

"Most of us, most of the time fight with our fate,
we fight our reality, we fight what is.
Maybe we can all learn to fall more in love with our fate.
To be at peace where we are,
to accept what is and flow with life as it's unfolding.
We can still choose the direction we'd like to go,
but there is also wisdom in releasing the need to control everything,
and allowing things to unfold.
Beautiful things can happen when we stop fighting against what is,
and wishing things were different, and allow ourselves to fully
embrace and fall in love with what is."

Belonging

"So where in the end do we belong?

In the eyes of another, where we see ourselves reflected?
Or arm in arm with those whose faces echo our own,
whose blood we share?
Or is it in the heart of the family we create, where we are safest,
and best known, and never lonely?
Perhaps we belong where love can bloom,
because we give it room to put down roots
and space in which to thrive.
Seeds fly in upon the wind and settle where they will.
We all belong somewhere.
If we're not nurtured as we should be,
we must find a choice to make, a place to go,
a harbor where the the storm is held at bay.
Sometimes simply belonging to each other is enough,
and what matters is not the struggle
but where we find our peace."

Song and Quote

My favorite pick of the day?

This song by Matthew West....

and something that was said in my group today...

"The good news is there's hope,
and the bad news is we're it !"

It's the little things.

Simple Abundance

" Simple abundance, 1: an inner journey; 2: spiritual and practical
course of creative living; 3: a tapestry of contentment."

Buddy💕

Things I am focusing on this year:

My word pick for the year : Awareness
with,
Gratitude
Simplicity and
Balance, riding on it's threads.

Last year was Surrender
and paired with that was growth.

No doubt those words saved me by helping me switch from
my monkey brain, to being more present.

Looking back, I can honestly say those words paved the way over
some pretty rough terrain.

And this year....I want to laugh more. I want to walk lighter, and appreciate more.
That is the fruit from digging deep and unearthing some pretty stubborn weeds
last year.

Some quotes from my morning notes:

" There are years that ask questions and years that answer."

"Each minute, each hour, each day, I smile a little more,
let go of yesterday a little more, and lie in today a little more."

' We cannot lay down our burdens on our own,
nor do they disappear over time.
True freedom is possible only through Jesus.
We cannot reach our burdens and often don't understand
how deep they go. Bur Jesus does.
And He knows the perfect way to heal us completely.'

"God formed you to love you. Go forth today with that knowledge.
Get out of bed with the assurance you are loved, valued,
and have all you need to rise up to all you were created to do and enjoy."

"Self-care leads us on a path to God's will and plan for our life.
Self-care never leads away from our highest good; it leads toward it."

"A spiritual plan is a statement of clear intention about what
you desire to experience within yourself and a clear
definition of what you must do to make it happen."

'Remember that it only takes a slight shift in
direction to begin to change my life.'

" The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."

" Don't wait around for other people to be happy for you.
Any happiness you get you've got to make yourself."

Warm hugs and, may you find peace, happiness and
beauty in the small things.
Happy New Year!
