Dad

This picture tugs at my heart.

Dad and Brandon.:)

I love having my family together...
it puts me back together.

Dad picking up sticks...me too....really just taking pictures. :)

It's a special treat to have Brandon here...add my Dad...and my cup runneth over !
Two years have passed since I have seen him.
That is too long.

I  took pictures  would catch a glimpse of Dad
working in the yard...
it evoked memories of the past...
spotting him over the years... as he gathered up sticks before he mowed...
I found comfort and normalcy in his simple routine.
The past and present kissed
leaving an imprint on my soul.

Oh how I wish he lived close...
however he is always as near as my heart.

He has been my balance and calm.
He has been my exhale and safe place.
He has been my rock.

We didn't have any big moments during his visit...

but a string of  small
interconnected moments.
The moments we might have missed
if we didn't take the time to slow down
to relax, and enjoy just being here.

I sit here and look back at these captured shots
with abundant heart and love.
It was one of the most memorable weeks ever.
Not kidding !
Thank you Dad for making all the little moments big.
I love you !!
XOXO

Spring Calf

One of the gazillion things I love
about Spring on the farm...
is the sweet baby calves.

They're so cute...
and snotty...
and clumsy.

The Mama's know I mean no harm...
however their serious mother-hearts
passionately protect their babes.
They're vigilant of my every move.

It's so darn cute...
when this newborn tries to stand...
 with those wobbly little legs...

Only a few moments old...
and utterly klutzy... :)

it attempts to search for something
to eat.
Amazing little creature.

Then it levitates ! :)

Thank you Mama for letting me close
to take pictures of
you and your babe.
So thankful for a sweet, tender moment
on the farm.
XOXO

Birthday

Oh how I love
Spring mornings...
coffee...mini-road trips
and celebrating special days.

This was my young man's Birthday.
He turned 20 !!
It's weird that he's so grown up.

I don't think you can ever be too grown up
to get excited about a rabbit. :)

(Promised I wouldn't mention his Birthday...had fun watching him squirm )

We went out for lunch...

( he listens to Sinatra. *love)

listened to music...

and enjoyed the scenery.
I got out to take a few pictures... and
had to run so he wouldn't leave me
took it all in.

(wardrobe by Brandon)

That evening we went to an art show...
we tried to be cultured...
and ended up just having fun instead. :)

XOXO

Maybe

“It's Spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want—oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!”

(Sunrise)

Maybe it's dashing out the door...
hair wet...no makeup...
to catch the sunrise.

(My hard working man)

Maybe it's having him
by my side.

Maybe it's being where we feel like we belong.

(Scotty and our bunny )

Maybe it's family...
and friends.
Maybe it's just knowing everything is going to be alright.
Maybe it's love.
XOXO

Easter Sunday Poem

On this special Easter Day...
I am thankful
for Jesus who hears me
pray.

He listens when I ask for guidance on how to live.
He instructs me to care for others, be kind, and to give.

He counsels me to forgive, accept and understand.
He's proven that anything's possible
with the touch of His hand.

He attends to me when I am going through struggles...
 He always sends His love
and if needed... a warm hug, a kiss or a snuggle.

Today I pray to God above,
and thank Him for His son
and His love.

He loves the likes of you and me...
We can depend on that for
eternity.
XOXO

Ordinary Day

Everyday holds special gifts.
This morning,
it started with
a rescue
at the beach.

I took him to work.
 The girls named him Bobby.
Just an ordinary morning.

The trees are blooming, the birds are chirping,
 and
it smells of rain.
Just a normal Spring afternoon.

The windows are open, there are flowers on the table,
And our carry out is
served with love.

(*love)

I spend some time on the porch with a good book,
 a warm breeze blowing,
& the cat purring loudly.
Just a normal day.
Just a normal week.

I'll gladly take these ordinary days.

(my rescue Bash Bish & my rescue Bobby )

They are
full of wonder and beauty ...

(*love)

and blessings in the simple.
May I never take them for granted.
XOXO
