Trees

I sat and read on a log for a bit.

Then a friend came and identified some trees, 

so I wrote the names on some rocks and placed them at their base.

We got up early and went to yoga class.

And then we both decided to joined the gym.

It was the best decision I made all day.

There are days, that our differences drive the other crazy.

But I wouldn't trade it.

Aspiration

This weeks lesson:

When I have a dream...
dare to take the first step.
[no reasoning. no excuses. no blaming someone else.]
Be fully responsible for my dream.

Things

Three things I love about today.

A day in the country...with the fur-kids.

Throwing brush and weeds into 40 mph. winds...and having them land on brush pile down wind.

That accomplished feeling after a hard days work. 

 Hubby stopping by to help...

then coming home with flowers in one hand & oranges in the other.

And...having more than 3 things that I loved about today. :)

Clearing

I picked up rocks, sticks, and pulled weeds along the fence-line...

with some help from my cute little side-kick.

Then as I sat, leaning on a hay bale, I admired the new view of the farm.

A peaceful, productive day.

Cheerful

Maybe it was the warm sunshine.

 Maybe this face.

Maybe both.

Alone

It was hard to help her leave...

I almost wavered.

She has been with us a little over a month.

It feels odd not having her here.

The house seems so quiet.

I think I'll pour myself a glass of wine,

and turn the music up, while I fix dinner.

Peaceful

Our stay concluded with me standing in the middle of a hotel parking lot, surrounded by every bag I could possibly carry, wear or drag...[arms weak, make-up perspired off my upper lip]...and realizing that hubby had the car keys.

And in a meeting.

 His phone on silence.

It was a bit unsettling. 

And a wee bit funny.

I love how peaceful and content being away has made me.

It was nice to have this time together,

and to get a break from our daily routines this weekend.

Strength

Exploring

I told her I was going to explore, and take pictures

of the boats sticking out of the ground.

She was like... "what ???" [*rolling her eyes]...yeah...OK.  I'll go.

Away

They were nice enough to let us check in early,

then we ran over the kind man in housekeeping, with the luggage cart.

The suitcase flung itself into the hallway.

 Hubby went to his meetings. I went shopping.

A little bit of chaos, a few giggles, a room with a view and  friends we treasure.

Just what we needed.

Worry

This morning I read : " Worry refuses to share the heart with gratitude.

One heartfelt thank-you will suck the oxygen out of worry's world."

I was reading my morning devotionals.
She sits with me, and I read to her. 
We were just having a serious conversation about the little things we were worried about.
[and some big things]
Then it was like...
Oh yeah !
Perspective is everything.

He stops so that I can take pictures of the sky.

Because the world seems to be in a big hurry,

My dear hubby brought home a goat coat...

[ he said he did it for me, not the goat].

Yeah.

He'll probably never admit it...

but I think he's got a little soft spot for Oliver.

Gathering

A dinner in her honor. Cousins giggling and playing hide-and-seek. 

Our first dusting of snow. Sombreros.  Eating too much cake.

A good day with the family.

Steps

Long talks about important things. A drive to a country cafe to meet

a friend for lunch.

Visiting with the locals, and sharing stories.

Taking steps towards our dream.

Feeling ready and hopeful.

Chilling

Temps in the fifties, then in the twenties, within an hour.

  A trip to the Dr. for a few X-rays. 

      Making it home before the freezing rain fell.
 Ice-cream for lunch. Eagles at the dam,
 and potato soup for dinner.  
All in all, a pretty good day. :)
